Naek Construction Company, Inc., a Connecticut corporation, specializes in Development, Construction Management, and General Contracting for industrial, commercial, and public buildings. Our customers include not only private owners, but also municipalities, the State of Connecticut, and the Federal Government. The Company, formed in 1978, has grown steadily as a result of our experienced management capabilities, professional staff, and exemplary performance record. Today, Naek Construction Co. enjoys a position as one of the leading developers, construction management firms, and general contractors in the state. Our large office building at 27 Naek Road in Vernon, CT offers sufficient space for all of our staff and has sufficient expansion capabilities to handle our long-term future growth. Our company’s activities begin with original conceptual studies and continue through the planning and construction phases. We work closely with owners and architects, as well as state and local agencies, to define, coordinate, and build to the specified needs of the project and owner.

Our team

Rashid Hamid

Owner and President

Owner and President of Naek Construction Company, Inc. Mr. Hamid uses a hands-on management style as evidenced by the numerous construction projects he has completed. He has acted as Project Manager and Engineer for numerous construction projects including office buildings, shopping centers, restaurants, and medical buildings to name a few. Before his arrival in the United States, Mr. Hamid was the Engineer in Charge of hospital, office, and school building construction for the Public Works Department in the Kingdom of Libya and a Project Engineer for two corporations in Pakistan. Mr. Hamid has a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Connecticut, a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree from Peshawar University in Pakistan, and a Bachelor of Science from the Karachi University in Pakistan.

Ester Sanches Naek

Vice President and Office Manager

Vice President and Office Manager and has been with Naek Construction Company, Inc since October 2022. She has been involved in cost estimating, contract administration, job meetings, job cost control, purchasing, and scheduling. She has been overseeing the bookkeeping department, the secretarial sta, working directly with the project managers, estimators, and indirectly with the eld sta. She reports directly to the President. Mrs. Sanches Naek received a dual bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut, a Specialization from the University of Boston and studied at Southern New Hampshire University to earn her master’s degree in Community Economic Development (incomplete). She speaks Portuguese, English, and Spanish, is married to Rashid Hamid and is the mother of Abdul Hamid Naek.

John Layman

Vice President of Construction Operations

Vice President of Construction Operations, joined Naek Construction Company, Inc. in 2002. As Vice President of Construction Operations, he is responsible for Estimating, Value Engineering & Project Management. John is also the Chairperson of Naek’s Safety & Health Committee. He received his Bachelor of Arts, Economics from the University of Connecticut in 2002.

George Correia

Vice President of Field Operations

Vice President of Field Operations, joined Naek Construction Company, Inc. in 2013. As Vice President of Field Operations, he is responsible for Project Management, Field Management, Labor Allocation & Equipment Maintenance.

Nadia Hamid

Accounting Supervisor

Accounting Supervisor. Nadia Hamid formally joined Naek Construction in 2023. She works directly with payroll, human resources, and the financials of the business. Nadia graduated from the University of Connecticut in 2001 with a degree in English. With this, Ms. Hamid spent many years in a classroom setting, after this, she very much enjoys the quiet pace of Naek.
